923 days and 27 tournaments later (but whose counting) Tiger Woods has finally won his first golf tournament since 2009 on Sunday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational . I think Tiger can now breathe a sigh of relief. Though it took him almost 3 years, it’s refreshing to finally have his name in the press for something other than his never ending list of ladies.
Things weren’t looking too good for the golfer a few weeks ago when he was taken off the golf course at Doral with soreness and swelling in his left Achilles tendon. This is the same injury that has caused him to miss three months and two majors last year.
Truthfully I’m happy for the guy. Even though his game hasn’t been where it was pre-‘Cheetah’ scandal, Woods hasn’t been too terrible on the green. In the past two Masters he’s tied for fourth. His play of late suggests he’ll be there again.
Let’s see if he can keep up the momentum of this much needed and well timed win.
