I realize that I haven’t written for the past couple days about sports. Truthfully I’ve been avoiding all sports channels and websites like Michael Vick avoiding dogs. Doing so has been rough.
As most of you know I’m a diehard all things Boston fan. Obviously the Superbowl hurt my heart; a lot. My mother who knows nothing about sports, bless her heart, called me right after the game saying sorry for my loss. Ya that didn’t help much. Anyways with that heartache I decided to take a break for a few days from writing about and watching sports. With this being only the third day in that break, its been rougher than I thought it would. Here’s how my past few days have gone so far.Sunday:
After the loss I didn’t want to touch FB. Unfortunately for me, the FB app on my Blackberry wanted to alert me to all messages from former friends (I say former because I deleted those who irritated me the most). Now not to say that I’m a sore loser but it flabbergasted me that fans, in particular Raider fans, had the audacity to try to insult my team for losing. I’m sorry but didn’t they lose to Tebow and didn’t even make the playoffs? Ya I thought so.
Leaving the Superbowl party I was at after the confetti went flying everywhere, I just decided to go home and go straight to bed.
Instead of waking up to Sports Center like I do every morning, I turned the channel to TLC (everything else at 6am is still infomercials) and watched the Duggars, you know the people with 19
,000 Kids and counting? Even though the show is furthest from anything I’d ever want to watch; it was still better than seeing a recap of the Superbowl; yuck!.
I get to work and scan through Yahoo articles. Pretty much 6 of the 15 were something associated with the Superbowl. I quickly clicked out of that screen and amazingly was able to get a lot of work done.
After waking up to the Duggars yesterday, I decided to skip watching TV in the morning and had another productive day at work. I was really feeling the urges to read about what was going on in the sports world but again, the only thing the blogs (even Perez Hilton) were talking about was the Giants. This is when I realized it was going to be a long week.
And now we are at today. I’m still refusing to watch or read anything but I think by tomorrow I should be game to hear about some sports. It has been rough going only a couple days without it, but that’s how being away from your first love usually makes you feel.
Two fingers up!
