Tom Brady vs. Eli Manning.
Yes I’m aware it’s not another typical picture of Tom and Eli in their team uniforms throwing a ball or doing the “YAA” face (you know the one when they just scored a touchdown and they’re screaming?). Anyways, with ladies as lovely as theirs how could you blame me?
But back to the topic at hand: Brady vs. Manning.
Superbowl XLVI will definitely be the turning point for these two men’s careers.
Brady, who has already cemented his place in Canton with his remarkable record breaking career which includes MVP awards and Superbowls (plural), can make up for his *ahem* unfortunate loss to none other than Eli Manning in Superbowl XLII. Though I think the loss was due to David Tyree using some kind of, as Chowdaheadz said, Harry Potter magic to catch that pass with his forehead. Regardless, Brady needs to show his naysayers that he isn’t getting too old (keep in mind he’s only 34) and that his streak of lackluster playoff runs since the Pats last Superbowl appearance is coming to an end – that Brady era is far from over.
Manning on the other hand has the most to prove between the two men. As the younger brother to Colts quarterback Payton Manning, Eli has never been much of a standout as a quarterback record wise. Though both brothers were able to each win a (singular) Superbowl; Payton has always been seen as superior to “little Manning”. If Eli is able to:
a. win his second ring
b. do so on big brothers field (or should I say former field? Too early?)
c. against one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game; TWICE
-then I think Eli will finally have some bragging rights.
So will it be Tom Brady getting his fourth Superbowl ring and joining the ranks of Terry Bradshaw and Joe Montana? Or will it be Eli Manning with a Cinderella story of beating the legendary Tom Brady and doing what his evil step brother couldn’t, win again? I guess we shall find out Sunday!
But we already know which of the “Mrs.” won this battle –Mrs. Brady; clearly.
Two fingers up,
